Despite the heatwave it was an ultra cool party, when the winners of the Russian Divanomania design contest were celebrated. More than 300 creative cover design proposals were submitted, among these a range of designs with reference to the threatened Siberian tiger, thanks to a cooperation with the WWF.

Innovation's director of sales, Birgit Rojh, was invited to represent Innovation. She thanked the organiser and cooperation partner Collection Ltd. and congratulated the winner Vladimir on his achievement. Click to see more pictures and read the laudatory speach.

"Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Divanomania design competition was a superb experience for us from Innovation Randers A/S.
The competition was initiated by Collection Ltd. the exclusive Representative in Russia for Innovation and our partner for more than 3 years. A special thank you to Elena and the Collection team who made it all possible. Let's give Elena a big applause for her efforts and professionalism.

It is the first time that we have merged fashion and furniture industry in an online competition.

At Innovation we always focus on the people who are actually going to make our furniture part of their life, and in this perspective, getting input from 300 potential sofa bed owners is maybe the best inspiration you can think of.
The creativity and inspiration, the daring experiments with materials, motives and colours were surprisingly innovative – and many of them with a fun factor that made us smile.
Not at least were we impressed by the level of technical skills to visualise the ideas.

Vladimir Vinogradov – a local guy from Moscow – suggested the motive "Equalizer". A modern design inspired by a DJ console that perfectly represents the rhythm and lifestyle of our target group.

Our chief designer had a hard time choosing only one of the many good design ideas. When he eventually decided to pick Vadimir's "Equalizer" in front of many other qualified candidates, it was for the three following reasons:

- Balance between creativity and something you want to look at every day in your room for many years
- Technically simple and relatively non-costly to produce
- The reference to music, which is a great source of inspiration for Innovation in the product development

Maybe you should know that our Chief Designer in his younger days used to be a rock musician – he was the drummer in a band named Rox – which probably also have made him inclined to vote for Valdimir's design contribution.
Vladimir would you please join me here on the stage.

As a memento of your winning project and as further inspiration to you I have brought you a present. You do know Verner Panton, I am sure. Well, here are 2 special coffee mugs in the famous Verner Panton 4-8-16 design – in a special edition in gold and white. I hope you will enjoy them and congratulate you once more on your project.

Congratulations and Spasiba."

Vladimir Vinogradov, the man behind the winning cover design, still can't believe he really won the competition against so many qualified oppnonents, but he is of course looking forward to see his cover as part of the new collection. The first prize also includes a trip to Denmark, where Vladimir will of course visit Innovation and see how the One Room Living sofa beds are designed and produced.
